I received a postgraduate Diploma in Geoscience (Mineral Exploration) from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia in 1977 and graduated from the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, Alaska, U.S.A. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1974.

I have more than 30 years experience in a variety of international exploration environments. Since 1984 I have concentrated on new ventures, developing and executing exploration programs for six different joint ventures in Australia as an independent operator.

I have exploration experience in geology, geophysics, remote sensing, and drilling, and petroleum development experience gained from the Houston Coalbed Gas Project, Prudhoe and Kuparuk Oilfields on the North Slope of Alaska, the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline, small oilfields in the Midwest USA, and the Lloyd Oilfield and Woodada Gasfield in Australia.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY (most recent first):

Alaska Earth Resources, Inc. (Anchorage, Alaska)

Alaska Earth Resources (AERI) is owned in equal shares by David Lappi, Robert Retherford, and Bill Ellis. We formed the company in late 2003 to take ownership positions in mineral exploration properties, and then joint venture those properties with other mineral exploration companies. Since we formed the company, we have staked approximately 1,500 mining claims of 160 acres each, and joint ventured many of them with other companies. Active exploration programs are taking place on several of these claim blocks. We have also joint ventured more than 250,000 acres of native-owned land with other mineral exploration companies and we expect the ongoing exploration programs to yield promising results over the next few years. I remain the president of AERI.

Alaska Earth Sciences, Inc. (Anchorage, Alaska)

Alaska Earth Sciences (AES) is a mineral exploration consulting company owned by Robert Retherford, and Bill Ellis (and previously David Lappi). I joined the company as a partner in late 2003 to pursue mineral exploration opportunities in an era of rising metal prices. I left in early 2006 to pursue other opportunities in the energy field.

LAPP Resources Inc. (Anchorage, Alaska)

Since 1991 I have guided this company to develop new energy playsin Alaska's Cook Inlet Basin and other areas. A GIS database for topographic, land use, land ownership, geological and geophysical data is in use for mapping and resource definition purposes. I remain president of the company.

Growth Resources Ltd. (Perth, Western Australia)

Growth Resources was a gold exploration company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange while it was actively exploring for gold. During the gold price decline of the 1990s, the company was voluntarily suspended from active trading on the exchange. Together with a small group of individuals, I arranged to take over the company and convert its activities to hydrocarbon development. Shareholders approved the change in direction for the company on November 27, 1997, and it became the new developer of the Alaskan Houston Coalbed Gas Project. I joined the company as its Executive Chairman, overseeing its operations in Alaska. To fund its drilling program, the Company raised $1.5 million Australian during the first week of December, 1997, and re-listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on December 11, 1997. On January 9, 1998 it spudded its first of four coalbed gas wells drilled during 1998.  A fifty-well drilling program was planned and largely permitted to initiate the commercial development of the field.

Taipan Petroleum Pty Ltd (Perth, Western Australia)

During 1989 and 1990, in addition to consulting, I formed a new independent petroleum company, Taipan Petroleum Pty Ltd. Taipan obtained exploration acreage in several Australian states by farmin, joint venture, and by applications for new acreage. Taipan was established to generate a positive cash flow from petroleum production from shallow oil and gas fields in Australia.

Taipan also had several gas exploration projects underway aimed at methane drainage from coal seams, a technology new to Australia. In December 1990, Taipan was sold to a public company, Decade Mining Resources N.L.

LAPP Resource Consultants Pty Ltd (Perth, Western Australia)

From July, 1984 I was an independent contract E&P Operator, generating new petroleum and mineral exploration concepts in Australia which were transformed into new Joint Ventures and Exploration Permits covering 70,000 square kilometres of several prospective sedimentary basins.

Each Joint Venture consisted of up to ten public companies listed on the Australian Associated Stock Exchanges. Joint Venture geological, geophysical and drilling programs were conducted in those Exploration Permits under my control and direction.

During this period, also I served as Managing Director of Median Oil NL, a founding Director of Invictus Drilling Fund, and a Director of Decade Mining Resources NL (public companies), which saw those companies involved in successful capital raising and exploration projects.

Median Oil NL introduced the concept of coalbed methane drainage for natural gas production to Australia in the Bowen Basin, Queensland. Median also had conventional oil and gas exploration programs in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Invictus Drilling Fund Ltd had a successful IPO capital raising of AUD$6 million which saw seven exploration wells drilled in Western Australia's Canning Basin. The first well, Lloyd 1, was a 500,000 bbl recoverable, 350 bopd discovery in June, 1987 which was put on production immediately.

Decade Mining Resources NL purchased Taipan Petroleum, and through a private placement, raised AUD$800,000 to drill an appraisal well, Lindon 2, on Taipan's shutin heavy oil field. The well produced 10 barrels of 17 degree API oil per day on test and was suspended. The well confirmed the presence of the field at 2,300 feet, however horizontal drilling may be required to economically recover the substantial reserves.

Jacia Natural Resource Consultants (Perth)

Engaged as a geophysicist supporting two of Jacia's clients, Strata Oil N.L. and Haoma North West N.L., my duties included prospect generation, technical and economic prospect evaluation, planning and executing geophysical surveys and geophysical interpretation. Major emphasis was placed on prospect generation and evaluation of new venture proposals throughout Australia and North America. Detailed evaluations of the Perth and Officer Basins were carried out.

Other duties included preparing periodic reports to Government and joint venture partners and day-to-day management of 22 producing properties in the USA and Canada and active exploration programs in eight onshore and offshore permits in Australia.

Eagle Corporation Limited (Perth)

As a consultant to Eagle Corporation on their Officer Basin exploration program I interpreted and reprocessed geophysical data and helped select sites for two exploration wells. I planned and supervised the execution of an experimental seismic survey in the Byro Basin, WA.

WOWCO Exploration Services Pty Ltd (Sydney and Perth)

Reporting to WOWCO's Chairman, I was responsible for business development and tender and contract preparation for Australia's only Australian-owned seismic contractor. My duties took me to major capital cities where I established contacts with senior exploration personnel in the energy industry. Initially in the Brisbane and Sydney offices, I then established WOWCO's offices in Perth, concentrating on business development in Western Australia.

International Energy Development Co. (now the Kuwait Government Oil Company, Perth)

I assisted this company (now called KUFPEC, owned by the government of Kuwait) in establishing IEDC offices in Perth, compiling and interpreting relevant exploration data on petroleum exploration permits in the Canning Basin.

R & M Consultants, Inc. (Fairbanks and Anchorage Alaska, U.S.A.)

I was engaged as a permanent geologist specializing in management and execution of projects requiring geophysical exploration, geologic mapping, sampling and description and structural geology analysis. My duties included selecting geophysical contractors for drill hole logging, supervising the work performed and interpreting the results.

I have been actively involved in analyzing geologic and hydrologic conditions along a tunnel proposed for the Fluor-Northwest Natural Gas Transportation system at Atigun Pass, Alaska.

For Atlantic Richfield I field-designed foundation pilings for oil production facilities at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. For Arctic Gas Pipeline Company my work included successfully field-testing electromagnetic exploration methods to find water to support oil drilling and construction operations on Alaska's permafrost-prone wintertime Arctic Slope.

On the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline Project I designed erosion control structures and conducted subsurface foundation investigations. I also field-designed foundation pilings for elevated sections of the pipeline.

I have also been involved in the design, installation and reading of deep multiple piezometer, thermistor and inclinometer systems at landslides and proposed hydroelectric sites in Alaska.

For Fluor-Northwest Gas Pipelines I assisted in computer code design and coding of geological data for entry into their Geotechnical Information System.

Resource Associates of Alaska, Inc. (Fairbanks, Alaska)

As a mineral exploration geologist, I planned, evaluated and helped to execute several massive sulfide, precious metal and tungsten exploration programs in Alaska for various clients such as Houston International Minerals Corporation and the Anaconda Company.

Broken Hill Pty. Co. Ltd. (Sydney, Australia; now BHP Limited)

During this short-term basic research project I planned and executed a study of the electrical properties of Australian host rocks and sulfide ores. I accomplished this independent study with a minimum of supervision. The results are contained in an internal company report.

Geophysical Corporation of Alaska, Inc. (Alaska)

As a back deck crewman aboard the seismic ship "Bering Explorer" I assisted with maintenance and operation of seismic reflection profiling equipment including "Bolt" air guns and a two-mile-long streamer cable. We explored large areas of the Gulf of Alaska and Cook Inlet for major international oil companies.
