Each September the Alaska Chapter of the Denali Frontiersmen holds it's gathering. Trace is a unique experience in a boy or a man's Royal Ranger experience.

Trace is...

  • the FCF gathering of old timers & young bucks
  • at the new camp near North Pole Ak
  • in the tradition of the Fur Trade of the 1820s
  • where Greenhorns pass testing to become recruits
  • life in the good old days
  • learning skills from life on the frontier
  • camping, cooking, shooting, and story telling
  • enjoying great fellowship
  • worship, prayer, praise, and thanksgiving
  • adoration of Father God, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit
  • preparation for ministry in Alaska Royal Rangers

Some of the old time skills are

  • flint and steel fire starting,
  • black powder rifle marksmanship,
  • knife and 'hawk throwing,
  • sewing outfits,
  • beading,
  • old-time cooking in dutch ovens and cast iron,
  • lessons in history,
  • hide and leather tanning,
  • trapping and snaring for survival,
  • tool craft,
  • black smithing,
  • coopering,
  • tin smithing,
  • canvas shelters,
  • lashing,
  • fort building,
  • casting metal,
  • and just plain fun!
