DOCTRINE

"Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stand's firm in the heavens!
Your word is a lamp for my path!"
Psalms 119:89,105

  1. The Word Of God
  2. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16,17; II Peter 1:20,21; (I Cor. 2:13)

  3. The Trinity
  4. We believe that there is one living and true God; eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Matt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14; Deut. 6:4; I John 5:7)

  5. God The Father
  6. We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that he concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that he hears and answers prayer, and that he saves from sin and death all who come to him through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16,17; John 2:24; Eph. 4:6)

  7. Jesus Christ
  8. We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in his substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, exaltation at the right hand of God as our mediator, intercessor, priest, and advocate. We believe in his imminent, personal, visible return to Earth. (Luke 1:35; John 1:1-14; Phil. 2:5-11; Rom. 8:34; I John 2:1,2; Acts 1:11)

  9. The Holy Spirit
  10. We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement. We believe men are regenerated, baptized into the body of Jesus Christ, indwelt, and sealed by the operation of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Holy Spirit empowers, guides, teaches, and sanctifies the believer. The Holy Spirit sovereignly gives spiritual gifts to all believers to to prepare God's people for work of service, so that the body of Christ will be built up. All believers are commanded to be filled (controlled) by the Holy Spirit. (John 16:8-11; I Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:13,14; Rom. 8:9; Eph. 5:18)

  11. Man
  12. We believe that man, created by God in his own image, became alienated from God through Adam's sin and thereby incurred physical and spiritual death. Therefore all men are sinners by nature and by choice. (Gen. 1:26,27; Eph. 2:1-3; Rom. 5:12)

  13. Sin
  14. We believe in the universality and exceeding sinfulness of sin. We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and his evil spirits, the enemies of God and the destroyers of men. (Rom. 3:10-26; I Thess. 2:18; II Cor. 4:3,4; Isa. 14:12-17; I Peter 5:8; Eph. 6:12)

  15. Salvation
  16. We believe that Salvation is a free gift of God received by grace through faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ. We believe that all who are thus born of the spirit are united with Jesus Christ; a relationship which makes available all the power and the resources necessary to live abundantly and victoriously over sin. We believe that all true believers once saved, shall be kept saved forever. (Heb. 9:22; Rom. 3:24,25; Eph. 2:8,9; John 1:12,13; John 3:16; John 10:27,28)

  17. Christian Conduct
  18. We believe that a Christian can and should by virtue of his position and relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ live for the glory of God and the well being of his fellowmen; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions, and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (I Thess. 5:23; Eph. 4-1-7; Rom. 8:28,29; Rom. 6 3-8)

  19. The Church
  20.  We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, constituting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. (Eph. 1:22,23; I Cor. 12:12-14)

  21. Angels
  22.  We believe the holy angels are created by God, stand before him in worship, protect and deliver God's people, execute God's judgment, and will accompany the Lord upon his return to Earth. ( Col. 1:16; Ps. 91:11; Acts 27:23,24; Heb. 1:6 )

  23. The Ordinances
  24.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of his death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. ( Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 8:36; Matt. 26:26; I Cor. 11:23-28 )

  25. Religious Liberty
  26.  We believe that every human being has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; that each church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that therefore church and state must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other. ( I Tim. 2:5; Rom. 13:1-3 )

  27. The Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal blessedness of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked. ( Matt. 24-26; John 5:28,29; Acts1:11; I Cor. 15; I Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20-22 )
