| AK Happy Hounds - A Professional Dog Walking & Pet Sitting Service | |
Jenni JohnsonOwner and Dog Walker, AK Happy Hounds Jenni Johnson grew up in the Washington D.C. area. Although an urban environment, she & her siblings loved animals and raised a variety of them from dogs & cats to rabbits & lizards, and even a duck! In 2005, Jenni married an Alaskan and they commuted back/forth from New York City to Anchorage for a couple of years until Jenni joined her husband in Anchorage. The family grew when they adopted a 7-week old puppy named Max, a wonderful shepherd mix, from the Anchorage shelter. Jenni & Max have participated in dog obedience and agility classes, and volunteered with the therapy dog testing process. Earlier this year Jenni began walking dogs for friends and Hillside Happy Tails in her spare time which led her to launch AK Happy Hounds. She loves the outdoors and feels strongly about dogs getting plenty of exercise for their health & well-being.
Chris Johnson is a life-long Alaskan. He has raised several dogs, and understands the importance of dogs getting regular exercise for their well-being. He has also participated in dog obedience and agility classes with Jenni and Max, their adopted shepherd mix. An avid runner, Chris enjoys taking Max along on his daily runs, and will be providing the "Evening Hound Run" service.
Levi Sutton is a 3rd year student at the University of Alaska in Anchorage where he is a physical education major, and a member of the UAA track team. He loves to spend time in the outdoors and believes dogs benefit mentally and physically from regular walks. Levi has CPR training, and grew up raising dogs and several brave cats!
Joanna has lived in the Anchorage area since 1990. She has always had animals in her household. Her current Lab, Inu, accompanies her on winter and summer hikes. In the summer you may find them walking with the Matsu Hiking Meet Up Group, and in the winter snow showing around the Matsu Valley and Anchorage Bowl area. When she is not walking dogs, Joanna is a part-time tax preparer and bookkeeper. She also voluneers with the IRS through VITA and prepares free tax returns during the tax season. She loves being outdoors in Alaska, especially when she is hiking with a pup!
Trent is currently a full time student at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he is pursuing a degree in Physical Education. He grew up in Soldotna, Alaska in a family with several dogs. He understands the needs of dogs well and always enjoys spending time with man's best friend. He is also an experienced housesitter, taking care of pets while the family is on vacation. For the past 3 summers, Trent has worked for the Kenai Police Department as a seasonal enforcement officer. He is trained in CPR.
The AK Happy Hounds walkers are excited and thankful for the opportunity to walk or run with your beloved hound!
