Mission Statement

In addition to supporting and promoting the mission of the Alaska Library Association, the Anchorage Chapter of the Alaska Library Association provides a venue for the Anchorage library community to meet, interact, develop, and exchange ideas relevant to libraries and the library profession.

An activity the library community may be interested in will be the ACLU Liberty Awards honoring Vic Fischer, Carol Comeau, Joan Hamilton, and the Alaska Constitution Convention Delegates. June Pinnell-Stephens is putting together a "library group" for the occasion on January 10th from 6 to 9 at the Millennium Alaskan Hotel at $50 a seat (live music, tribute program, silent and live auctions, and a formal Alaskan dinner) What a way to start the 50th Anniversary of Alaska Statehood!
If you are interested in attending, please e-mail prockish@alaska.net for further information or call me at 333-8569 by the evening of Jan. 3rd. I will coordinate with Ronalda, the ACLU Development Coordinator, so that we will all be able to sit together.
