"Home of the Left Handed Halibut"
Featuring the freshest Shrimp, Halibut and Rockfish of any coastal town, straight from the icy waters of Prince William Sound. Each order is hand battered with our own secret recipe. Also enjoy home-made clam and seafood chowders and perhaps some home- made rhubarb crisp for dessert.
Steeped in Alaskan maritime atmosphere, we are located at the end of the triangle in beautiful downtown Whittier, Alaska.
Enjoy the harbor view from our deck and choose from over 30 imported, specialty and domestic beers and wines while listening to fine blues and jazz music. The Swiftwater uses only fresh seafood harvested locally. Since there are no lobster, crab or scallop fisheries in Prince William Sound you will have to pay the high prices of upscale Anchorage restaurants for those delicacies from other locals. Our Sidestripe shrimp are not the largest but are the sweetest shrimp you will ever have. The Swiftwater offers one of the most unique atmospheres in Alaska. Enjoy our many historical photos, Alaskan art and treasures adorning the dining area.
Our spacious and always sunny deck makes a perfect spot for Seafood and Spirits by the Seashore.
Sit at the Swiftwater for more than one hour and become weary of hearing world travelers rave about the seafood and beg for the recipe.

Our Manager Nikos (left) and Assistant Manager Takis (right) look forward to serving you seven days a week seasonally May through September.
Cooks, cashiers, bathroom attendants, night clean up crew, servers and chief dishwashers, Don & Margaret Varlamos, (proprietors) also look forward to seeing and serving you.
