My friends,

Here is latest from the National Office of RR’s on how to participate in the relief effort.

Subject: FW: Katrina Relief

Commander,

We are having requests from Royal Rangers leaders about how they can help. I’ve asked Ronnie Franklin and Marvin Lemke to oversee the Royal Rangers efforts. Ronnie and Marvin both have work on their state’s disaster relief committees as well as working with me on Royal Rangers disaster assistance arm for the Royal Rangers Alumni.

Ronnie Franklin is posting a “Katrina Relief” website, which will be up and running in the next 24 hours. You can access it through the Royal Rangers Alumni www.royalrangersalumni.org website.
1) Royal Rangers will be able to go on the website and sign up as volunteers. These are people who are available to go to locations to be of assistance.
2) Royal Rangers who stay more than five days qualify for the “Silver Pathfinder” award. You will need to notify Mike King, our RR Pathfinder Coordinator. His email is king8548@bellsouth.net.
3) If you are involved in the Katrina relief, such as Mike King, Ed White, Mike Simmons, etc., then Ronnie will have an area on the website where you can post needs and the contact person.
4) Financial donations should be made directly to the AG website at http://www.disasterrelief.ag.org/.

Ronnie is currently building this site, so please be patient. If needed, contact him or Marvin for more information.

You are welcome to send this information to your Royal Rangers mailing list and/or post it on your district RR website.
