March 8, 2007 11:00pm AST.  GB was not able to locate Aafes after taking 6 dogs out on the trail towards Ptarmigan Pass.  Pilots flying the vast area were unable to spot the dog and now GB will have to concentrate efforts on Aafes.  Iditarod will further handle all news regarding GB's status in the race.

Current update: 5:16pm March 7.  GB into Rohn 03/07 11:24:00 after 25 hr and 37m on the trail.

Update: 9:55am March 6.  GB out of Rainy Pass 03/06/2007 09:47:00am with all 16 dogs.  Why it is taking him forever to get to Rohn remains to be seen.  He did leave with a well rested team down the windy hell hole towards Rohn.  The wind has been ripping down the valley coming from the North. And that would be directly into the mushers face.

Update: GB into Rainy Pass March 5, 10:32pm along with Perry Solmonson.  It appears they have made it without breakage. The Freedom sled moves on.  What happens next remains vague.  They could take a short rest and continue to Rohn or wait for daylight before blasting off downhill over glaciered streams.  They will probably rest and move on in the morning.

Update: GB out of Finger Lake with all 16 dogs March 5 5:55pm along with Perry Solmonson after 3h 17m rest.  It appears he and Perry have teamed up to make a night run through the dreaded "Happy River Steps".  This is the same section where Doug Swingley wiped out and had to scratch.  The strategy here is to not rest too long at Finger Lake so the dogs are in cruise control doing the Steps instead of full speed ahead.  Good luck Freedom sled!

Update: GB into Finger Lake 2:38pm. No word from GB since last evening.

Update: GB into Skwentna March 5, 12:44am. Currently 49th position.  That will change due to resting the dogs.

Update: Message from GB: March 4, 11:06pm.

In and out of Yentna.  Will head on to Skwentna before resting.  Duke and Waldo in lead.   Dogs are doing great.
