MEMORANDUM FOR CAP/AK WING SQUADRONS
FROM: CC
SUBJECT: Policy Letter No. 24
Alaska Wing Fuel and Oil Charge Policy
1. This memorandum is to state the Wing policy regarding the practice of applying additional charges to basic cost of fuel. While this is generally an accepted practice to raise funds for the individual squadron, certain restrictions apply as follows:
a. Close and strict accounting of fuel sales must be kept as for other financial transactions.
b. Fuel may not be marked up for any military or federal entity, (i.e. - RCC missions, Coast Guard, etc.)
c. Fuel will not be marked up for Wing related purchases, i.e. - maintenance flights, and Wing designated flight clinics.
3. In the past it has been the practice to charge for oil before it has been consumed, for the purpose of building a stock for oil changes and other routine cycles. While it is understood that the oil is eventually placed in the aircraft, nevertheless the oil at the time of purchase is not required for the maintenance of proper levels. Effective immediately oil may not be charged for, except as it is used and is then installed in the aircraft engine(s).
4. There shall be no deviation from this policy without the prior written permission of the Wing Commander.
