MEMORANDUM TO ALL UNIT COMMANDERS
FROM: ALASKA WING DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION
Subject: Alaska Wing Policy No. 33,
Transportation Requirements
In accordance with Wing Policy 33 I'm letting you know what items are required for the transportation section of your squadrons. This letter will only cover transportation, you will have to find out what other items policy 33 covers from those directors. This is being done to bring the Alaska Wing into compliance with NHQ regs so we will be able to pass our CI inspections.
The following items are required from each sq. transportation officer or squadron commander.
1. Monthly reporting to be done for each vehicle you have by the 8th. of each month online at the vehicle useage reporting site.
2. Semi annual vehicle maintenance requirements-to be done each time tires are swapped over to the tires of the season. Use the attachment 6 posted below as your guide.
3. Completed CAPF 73 forms. I need the entire previous years worth of form 73'from your vehicle log book to be mailed to wing HQ, from June of the previous year thru May of the present year. Make sure they are completely filled out as per example on both pages given in CAPR 77-1 attachment 3 . I only want these to be sent to wing HQ once a year every year in June.

I will need a copy of this with each item checked off. I will also need copies of all invoices with the vehicle CAP ID # clearly noted on the invoices. NHQ is changing to a new maintenance program and they may be reimbursing for some of these items but as of now I'm not sure what may or may not be included. All the routine things listed are to be paid out of squadron funds as it presently stands, if your squadron has a lack of funds contact Leah at Wing HQ regarding this.
Also note the date of completion of the required maintenance in the vehicle log book on the form 73 for each vehicle. This is one of the points we received a write up on in the last inspection was not having maintenance completion in the log books. I would say that you should keep a copy of all maintenance records in the log book replacing it every 6 months.
This is a NHQ requirement that we perform this maintenance and it has not been done in the past as NHQ has required it to be done.
Please send all copies of completed maintenance to my attention at Wing HQ. After reviewing your paperwork I will let Ed Bos and the commander your transportation section has met all requirements. If all other requirements have been met your funding for practice SAR's will be released to your squadron.
This policy does not affect any other missions, only the practice SAR's.
Thank you for your assistance in getting this requirement done.
