MEMORANDUM TO ALL UNIT COMMANDERS

FROM:  ALASKA WING COMMANDER

RE: Wing Policy 33, SAREX FUNDING AND MISSION READINESS

1.   The purpose of the Civil Air Patrol is to perform missions that are necessary for the future of our communities and nation. These missions impact our youth, secure our country, save lives, and educate others about about the benefits of aerospace science(s).

2.   To accomplish these missions we must be prepared in our talents and material resources. These include our ground equipment, vehicles, and aircraft. Without these being fully functional and operational, we cannot perform the missions that we have not only become noted for but also depended upon. We must be fully mission ready at all times as the lives of others often depend upon us, and too, our lives may depend upon fully functioning equipment as well.

3.   The following Wing Policy is therefore implemented:

a.       All units will comply with the required maintenance schedule(s), reporting procedures, and other required reporting per regulation and policy.

b.      This shall include maintenance and care of vehicles and aircraft, mission related ground equipment, and unit base equipment, (ie- computers, FAX, etc.) Also included are the required reports such as CAPF 18/99, CAPF 73 (computer input), annual S-3 and S-8 reports and all required financial reporting.

c.       Any unit not completing the required reporting will be considered not mission ready and in turn not eligible for training funds.

4.   Alaska Wing Directorates will establish reporting dates and procedures IAW Civil Air Patrol Regulations governing the same.

5.   Any questions concerning this policy should be directed to myself.
