MEMORANDUM FOR CAP/AK WING SQUADRONS

SUBJECT: Alaska Wing Policy No. 7
Alaska Wing Vehicle and Maintenance Policy
1. Alaska Wing is responsible for emissions inspection, vehicle registration fees, vehicle self insurance (VSI) which is required only on vehicles from National HQ and is not more than 9 years old.
2. The squadrons are responsible for the upkeep on their vehicle(s): lube, oil filter, spark plugs, belts and hoses and tire rotation, summer and winter changeovers. They are responsible for the antifreeze level cooling system flush (when it is needed) fuel filters, and wiper blades.
3. National covers batteries up to $75.00, tires up to $ 120.00 each and other safety items up to $ 300.00 with prior approval by way of Vehicle Rehabilitation Reimbursement Form.
4. Responsibility for towing is to be determined by Wing Staff.
5. The cost of repairs to windshields is 50% of cost if the vehicle was acquired new through National, and if the vehicle was acquired through other sources, the Wing and squadrons split the costs 50/50.
