The Anchorage Senior Activities Center enhances the quality of life for people 55+ years old in the Anchorage area by providing a gathering place, with opportunities for recreation, education, socializing, and exploration. During the "A Salute to Seniors" event at the Anchorage Senior Activity Center, Mr. Danny Glover along with Mayor Dan Sullivan were invited to dance by the Masingka Dancers. The event was held September 1, 2009 as a fundraiser for the programs and services offered by the Center to local Seniors in cooperation with the Mayor's Office of Equal Opportunity. The event was also considered a kick-off for the Municipality's Diversity Month celebration.

CENTER LAUNCHES MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN



With the goal of a 20% increase, the Anchorage Senior Activity Center will kick-off a giant Membership Campaign on July 29th. . The theme of the campaign is: "'Tis The Season: Choose Your Reason(s) To Join or Renew." Chief Administrator, Cathy Lee, reports, "The center is truly a resource for the entire community, serving seniors and Anchorage residents of all ages. Now, we have memberships available for all ages as well as for Businesses in our community. The purchase of a membership is an investment in the future of Anchorage."

A new category of membership that allows businesses to demonstrate support of the center, a Business Membership, will be introduced. Hagen Insurance and Plethora Designs Day Spa & Boutique are the first to join the Center as business members. Also, due to the wealth of programs, catering, classes, and activities available at the center, Associate Memberships are increasingly popular for persons under 55 years of age The campaign runs through December so Join or Renew now. Benefits include a monthly subscription to the Senior Borealis Newsletter and discounts on activity fees.: Applications forms can be copied from the ASAC Website or phone: 907-258-7823.
