National Congress of American Indians held their Mid-Year Session in Anchorage Alaska
in June 2007. Pastor and Audrey Ebarb volunteered time to be apart of this session.
Pastor Ebarb is registered with the Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb Louisiana and Sister Ebarb
is registered with Tlingit and Haida Tribes in southeast Alaska. She is from Hoonah Alaska.
Since APT reaches out to the native people of Alaska we spent time working at
this conference. We are concerned with helping to educate people on drug and substance
abuse, teen pregnancies and social issues that can be harmful to our community. We
choose to help in those areas we can to better peoples way of life. We continue to preach
the gospel of Jesus Christ as the ultimate goal for mankind. But as we minister spiritually
to our friends we should do our best to minister physically as well. This is one way we can
help just a little in our community!
Conference Notes
First the Ebarb's filled out volunteer forms for this community event. Then they where
scheduled for a orientation at the Anchorage RurAL Cap central office. Once there introductions
of volunteer's were made and meeting of the organizers. Then the conference agenda was reviewed.
At this time each group was instructed of the expectations for what they were volunteering for.
There was much to be done, setup, bag stuffing, general ushering, break-out session ushering,
enrollment booth's. Though there was much for the volunteers to do, as well as the NCAI staff this event was a success.
Thanks to the great organizers and the volunteers.
