You can get to this trail by driving down the Copper River Highway to mile 17. Turn south on Aliganik Slough road and follow main road for 3 miles to the end. You can take it at anytime of the year. It's very heavily used, but very easy.
The Alaganik Slough boardwalk is designed to promote visitation and encourage understanding and appreciation of the unique Copper River Delta. It traces a sinuous path 900 feet across an area of the delta adjacent to the bank of Alaganik Slough and leads to a viewing platform elevated approximately 12 feet above the surrounding terrain. The boardwalk itself is elevated approximately 2 feet above the ground surface and provides a unique perspective on the delta and commanding views of the surrounding mountains. The boardwalk allows visitors, including impacts on vegetation and soil which had a been a problem in the past. At a width of 6 feet, the boardwalk is wide enough to accommodate two wheelchairs.
