We also have many trails here that you can backpack or hike, and these trails will take you through part of Chugach National Forest, which is the second largest forest in the Nation. These trails range from a half of a mile to four miles long. And if you feel like taking your time, you can pick blueberries, Salmonberries, and Cranberries on, the way to your desination.
I love walking out my front door, just to experience the beauty of Alaska, and enjoy life up here in the last Frontier. mountains, water, and many glaciers surround cordova.
Cordova has one road that goes out of town, and that is called the Copper River Highway. This road ends just past the Copper River, and The Million Dollar Bridge. They literally spent millions of Dollars on this bridge that dont go anywhere. The Bridge was damaged in the 1964 earthquake. And they had just repaired it last year. You can also see Miles and Childs Glacier from the road.
There are also some beautiful aurora's here; I have seen some of the most breath taking sunsets here in Cordova.
