SHERIDAN MOUNTAIN TRAIL

This trail is located on Sheridan Glacier road and follow that for 3 miles. The length of the trail is 2.9 miles, recommended seasons are Summer and fall. This trial isn't used very much, and its a difficult trail.

This moderately sloping trail side-hills above a stream while climbing into a picturesque alpine basin. The view from within the basin is excellent and excursions to the rim surrounding the basin provide spectacular views of the Sheridan and Sherman glaciers and the Copper River Delta.

The tread is very primitive with little tread work on the upper section. About 1600 feet of boardwalk covers much of the wet, muddy sections of trail but rubber boots are still recommended. The trail passes through the alpine basin and makes its way to a ridge above tree line that overlooks Sheridan Glacier.
