The Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Cordova are accepting applications for persons or charitable organizations interested in receiving road kill game and forfeited fish. Applications will be accepted in person at the Alaska Wildlife Troopers office at 711 First Street during normal business hours.

The pool will open at 8 am this morning! Winter schedules are available at the pool and Bidarki.

Be Snow Smart: Avalanche Safety Workshop presented free By the North American Outdoor Institute Friday 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Forest Service, Saturday 9:00am to 12:00pm at Mt. Eyak Ski Area.  The training will provide recognition of avalanche-prone areas, hazard assessment, introduction and use of avalanche transceivers, essential safety equipment, trip planning, and emergency procedures in the event of a life-threatening avalanche. Students will also learn how to

organize and practice companion rescue, including concepts of: assigning a leader, determining scene safety, identifying last point seen, observing visual clues, signal search, pinpoint search, locating the victim, rescue, and facilitating medical care.

The forest service invites you to a scavenger hunt on the 10th at 3 in their building.  Rewards for all participants, plus a drawing for a free book.  Get our your magnifying glass and join in the fun.  Rules will be given out when you arrive.

Satellite sun outages are coming again febuary 21st thru march 4th.  Disruptions are usually in the late morning/early afternoon, lasting 10 to 15 minutes, and can affect long distance calls, internet, cable and satellite TV, news programming on the Clam, and all programming on the Eagle.

Senior lunch is  roast turkey today, chicken curry tomrorow, School's serve biscuits and gravy for rbeafks,t bbreaded fish sticks for lunch today, cereal and yogurt for breafkast, chicken burger for lunch tomrorow.
