How Can You be Exposed to this Chemical?

That's a good question.  You can get it from direct exposure, and indirect exposure.  Like in the fumes of paint or cleaning compounds or products mechanics use.  It's in a lot of everyday things people use for home maintenance and lots of hobby craft things.

Check for what products contain 2-butoxyethanol
(CAS Registry Number: 000111-76-2)
in the Household Products Data Base
http://hpd.nlm.nih.gov/ingredients.htm

5% concentration is not safe for home use, per one expert in product development.

Also check for the complex version Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether or 2-2-butoxyethanol (CAS Registry Number: 000112-34-5)

Check some of these.  Simple Green is a real surprise!

Indirect?  Another thing about the studies that misting the chemical in one's eyes or getting in the cuticle are of hands, is more exposure than drinking it.  So for firemen sleeping in a bunk house where multiple others (say who work as painters) are expelling the chemical into the sleeping room?  ... for those who get the same air recycled on long airplane flights ... if you live in an area where industrial 2-Butoxyethanol is being put into the air ... or around an airport where there are lots of jet fumes?  If your spouse has an exposure, or if someone breathed it into your eyes when you were a child?  I've wondered about mascara, eye-liner, pedicures & the chemicals you could be exposed to in a beauty shop, a barber shop?

There are lots of things that I could share.  But it seems sort of unreal, doesn't it?  Like the lady with CFS who said it started on 12-23-90 when she was in a crowded shopping mall where many gulf war vets and their families were shopping .... or the museum directors in Germany who took many gulf war vets through the museum.  They have come down with the 'gulf war syndrome'  ... Or the doctors who examined so many gulf war vets, that the doctors also came down with 'the syndrome''

Second Hand Solvent Exposure * * * * *

People often can go back to the DAY of extreme exposure, though.  Burning eyes and dark urine ... or just the FATIGUE and other odd symptoms that start after that.

It is helpful to recognize the symptoms of too much of any chemical ... many times these are symptoms that are considered primary, instead of secondary

Why I'm looking into this chemical exposure

Although my study began with the chemical of harm during the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup (only `11,000 workers ...)

and led to 30% of the first gulf war troops' force of 700,000 ... I now suspect it is widespread in our nation for more than half a century.

Ask your doctor to see if your red blood cells are immature.  If someone has too many immature red blood cells many other tests can be 'OFF'  Such as the liver test.  When you have too many immature red blood cells the liver counts go UP.  When your liver is harmed, these same counts go DOWN.  So, I suppose one offsets the other.

Robin went to Mayo Clinic.  They're pretty top notch.  The man whose broken little finger hadn't begun to heal 6 months later, stumped a top orthopedic doctor.  If our nations leaders, VP Cheney, Attorney General Ashcroft & Wm Rehnquist were harmed from 2-butoxyethanol, the doctors wouldn't look for immature red blood cells, if the hemoglobin/hematocrit look OK, that is

  • Here's someone in your group with low red blood cells:   "I really need to know if anyone with CFS or Fibro have had trouble with low red blood cells... I just found out and I'm doing the test for the colon...I was wondering is this another health issue with CFS or Fibro" Kathy

I listened to the 700 Club Nov 20, 2004 and there was special prayer for those with FM, 'leaky gut,' spleen and white and red blood cell production problems.  I was praying along with them ... hoping for a miracle for you because that is the seriousness of this    Often I agree with this woman's prayer & say the Lord's Prayer for these who are harmed from 2-butoxyethanol.   (Oops... don't open this link if bright colors bother you)
