 My
exclusive guide area in Southwest Alaska (Bristol Bay)
is located in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge (TNWR). The area covers
over 3,000 square miles.
I also utilize the Wood-Tikchik State Park
in conjunction with a friend and fellow guide/outfitter.
The Wood-Tikchik
State Park has thirteen lakes that
drain the Killbuck
Mountains and feed two
major river systems.
The
southern portion of the park is primarily forest with spruce and birch trees.
The northern section is mostly open terrain of tundra and scrub-brush, with
some spruce and birch trees.
According to biologists and our own field experience, populations of Brown
Bear and Moose are at healthy stable levels. The Mulchatna Caribou herd is
still increasing and is probably at an all time high of over 200,000 animals.
We offer an exciting option on early Spring Brown Bear hunts of staying in a
warm cabin and using snow machines daily to access the hunting areas.
We also offer
an Unguided Caribou hunting option. This 7 day hunt is fully outfitted,
except for food, and includes the bush flight into camp
