Not every sunset can be spectacular. This one on the first night of our May 2003 visit was a welcome sight, none the less.

The surf at this time of year is very calm. The young men that would normally be surfing the waves, make do with the thin plywood boards that they skim along the beach with.

The island in front of the setting sun is Isla Peņa, viewed from the beach in front of Casa Libertad. This is the same island that is in the aerial photograph.

In a few days, we are planning to host about 50 local people at our house for a Sunset Cocktail party. We are hoping for a spectacular sunset display, and if we are very lucky, that elusive green flash.
