Are reading difficulties preventing your child from reaching his/her potential?
Is your child struggling and frustrated in school because he/she lags behind in reading, writing, arithmetic, or spelling?
Adults, are spelling difficulties keeping you from that job promotion?
Help is here.
We welcome students who struggle with language and math, and we specialize in students who are one or more years below their reading grade level.
Your child needs a scientifically researched approach. Your child may not have mastered the two ingredients that are crucial for helping people learn to read:
phonemic awareness instruction
multi-sensory instruction
In spite of the wealth of research demonstrating that students need phonemic awareness many schools still do not teach phonemic awareness. Phonemic awareness must be explicitly taught to struggling readers and spellers even before phonics instruction begins. Otherwise, phonics will not make sense to most students with reading difficulties.
Research shows that most students with reading difficulties will continue to struggle with reading, spelling and comprehension until a multi-sensory method is used for intervention. Those learners not reading in third grade will not be reading in 5th or 9th without intensive efforts which incorporate phonemic awareness and multi-sensory teaching. This type of strong, multi-sensory learning experience will make sense to readers where many other methods have not.
The brain’s language and reading centers actually change after intensive multi-sensory instruction.
