Dianne
Barske, artist and author, has lived in Alaska for 35 years. She has
written and illustrated award-winning books about animals at the Alaska
Zoo. She is also the author of a biography of Alaska cultural pioneer,
Lorene Harrison, a book titled “Mostly Music.” Dianne teaches
art to children and finds that a great adventure. The American Diabetes
Association has chosen her work four times in a national Holiday Art
Search competition for its annual holiday cards. She is the mother
of three and grandmother of two. She is also an admirer of animals,
with a house full of three dogs, a cat, and a turtle. So focusing her
talents on the Alaska Zoo came naturally. More
