TOXINS

poisonous shroomIn addition to the obvious hazards like automotive products, paints & varnishes, pesticides and fertilizers, cleaners and deodorizers, many seemingly harmless household items can be dangerous when ingested by a pet, such as:

 

  • Herbal decongestants or diet products
  • Clumping kitty litter
  • Onions, onion powder
  • Chocolate (baker's, semi-sweet, milk, dark)
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Yeast dough
  • Coffee (grounds, beans, chocolate covered espresso beans)
  • Tea (especially caffeinated)
  • Salt, MSG, soy or teriaki sauce
  • Macadamia nuts
  • Hops (used in home beer brewing)
  • Tobacco (especially cigarette butts pets find in kitchen garbage)
  • Tomato leaves and stems (green parts)
  • Potato leaves and stems (green parts)
  • Rhubarb leaves
  • Avocados (toxic to birds, mice, rabbits)
  • Moldy foods
