ROYCE'S RIDE

ROYCE'S RIDE - 24.5 miles - Mountain Bike

This ride, like Royce, is a real sweetheart. It's a fun ride that has a little of everything. We ride thru base to the hospital where we take a dirt road thru the woods. The road ends where the steam pipes cross Ship Creek. We carry our bikes across the pipes and continue on dirt trail to the Ft. Richardson Fish Hatchery. Here we ride thru Cottonwood Park and continue on Ft. Richardson paved bike trail to the main gate. We ride out the gate and take Arctic Valley road for a few miles until we get to the beginning of the "Tank Trail". This trail consists of gravel road which changes to dirt road. After a while we turn off onto a mile long single track section thru the woods and come out of the woods around east 10th street. From there we ride the streets back to the paved bike trail which we follow to the Boniface gate then thru base back to the ORC.
