Chickaloon Camp

Located in the beautiful Matanuska Valley near Palmer, Chickaloon Covenant Camp is in the initial stages of being developed for individual, family, youth group and congregational use. Less than two hours drive from Anchorage the camp promises to be an exciting part of the church's ministry as people come to spend time outdoors and with each other. The ultimate purpose of this facility is to bring glory to God for who he is and what he has made.

The view from the lake shore is spectacular with rugged mountains in all directions. Spruce, willow, birch, and cottonwood trees abound. A variety of birds and animals inhabit the area.

A master plan has been composed which will guide development of the site. The first stage of the plan calls for tent sites to be cleared and trails to be laid. Future possibilities include recreational vehicle camping, a playing field and ball diamond, an all-weather multi-purpose building and a rustic lodge. The majority of the camp will be left in its natural state to allow for camping, canoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing, bird watching, and other recreational activities.
