Nome, located on the shore of the Bering Sea on the site of the Gold Rush of 1899, is renowned today for being the finish line for the World Famous Iditarod Dogsled Race. The Covenant Church here was completed in 1952 by Spencer Strand. It is standing there to lift the fallen and to glorify him who said, "And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." (John 12:32) Three miles from town is the KICY radio tower, communicating the gospel for miles around.
