About The Vigil Logo The Vigil 2000 Logo was donated to the diocese by James Grant. Grant, a
well known Athabaskan artist from Tanana, lives in Fairbanks, and teaches
sculpture classes at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and teaches sculpture
classes at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer Fine Arts Festival.
He has received commissions for paintings and sculpture from individuals, Native
Corporations and the 1% for Public Art programs. His work is displayed at
the Doyon Building in Fairbanks, and his pen and ink drawings illustrate two
books by Velma Wallace. The Diocese is most grateful to James for sharing
his gift with us.
