How to Rent a Garden

Waiting List

To add your name to the waiting list for a garden plot in 2012, contact Lara Lotze. It pays to get your name in early because the first one on the list gets the first pick of available gardens. Returning gardeners have until May 10 to renew their contract.

So, you are on the waiting list. What next? May 15, 2012, at 7:00 PM the new plots will be distributed in the same order as the names appear on the waiting list. Come early to find a plot that appeals to you. Gardeners will be available to answer questions beginning at 6:00 PM. Once you find the one that appeals to you, you will read over the Garden Rules, fill out a small contract and pay your fees. Then we turn you loose and you start one of the best summers you have ever had.

Can't come on the 15th? We can choose a plot for you and make arrangements to meet you at the garden at a later date.

What You Get

For $ 35 and a $ 40 refundable deposit you get:
A Garden plot approximately 600 Sq. Ft. in size,
First pick of your plot year after year,
Our newsletter,
Use of our dumpster,
Use of our port-a-potty
Use of our basic tools,
Use of our water system, hoses and sprinklers, and
All the free advice you can stand.
The $ 40 deposit is returned to you if you participate in our yearly cleanup day which is held the second Saturday of each June. If you can’t, we can find something else for you to do so you can get your deposit back. Cleanup day is important as it is the gardeners’ chance to work on the Garden as a whole.
