Welcome to the Federal Defender of the Last Frontier

The Federal Defender for the District of Alaska has prepared this website as an aid to any criminal defense attorney practicing in any of the federal courts in Alaska.

We are headquartered in Anchorage and we provide representation throughout the State of Alaska, the entire 600,000 square miles of a State known as The Great Land. In addition to the direct representation of appointed clients in federal trial courts in Juneau, Ketchikan, Fairbanks, Anchorage and Nome, we provide legal services for clients at the appellate and habeas levels. Finally, our office conducts a variety of training functions for Criminal Justice Act attorneys.
