rowing
up in the South, it is not uncommon to see a lot of road kill along the
highways. One of the more common road kill animals is a possum. There is =
an
old joke that goes "Why did the chicken cross the road? To prove to =
the
possum that it could be done." T=
he truth
is that possums are a lot smarter than people give them credit for. They
won't enter a hole if there is just one set of tracks going into it becau=
se
they know something is in there. But if there are two sets of tracks the
possum will enter and not be afraid. T= he message we celebrate at Easter is that we don't have to fear death because there are tracks leading out of the tomb. Paul proclaimed, "Where, O death is your victory? Where O death, is your sting? = The sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to G= od! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." This should = not only give us a different perspective on death, but profoundly affect how = we live. Prepare To Sing This Week in Our
Worship by Dan Shilling
Music has always been basic to the act of worship. =
Music
is not added to the words to make them more pleasing; it is integral to t=
he
way the words are being used. Sing all Sing lustily= b> and with a good courage. Beware of singing as if y= ou were half dead, or half asleep; but lift up your voice with strength. Be = no more afraid of your voice now, nor more ashamed of its being heard, than = when you sung the songs of Satan.
Honest to Goodness by Michael Blakene=
y
Everybody likes an honest person. How many mov= ies have we seen where the poor honest person overcomes the rich dishonest man? What about the Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life?= This heart-warming tale is broadcast every year! We like the honest person. Honesty plays an important role in revival, especially when= we become honest about ourselves. When God begins to illuminate the ar= eas of our life where we need revival and He begins to call us back to Himsel= f, we must be honest about our condition. If we believe that God is al= ways truthful, then we cannot say we are without need of revival. The Bi= ble says it more bluntly in 1 John 1:8, “If we say, 'we have no si= n', we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” Pers= onal revival requires that we acknowledge our sin before God and look to Him f= or guidance. Allow God to shine His light on your heart and agree with= Him. Confess it before Him and begin to experience the revival of your heart.<= /p>
