This picture was taken from the back side of the fence during construction.
One end of the gate is supported by this 4" hard rubber wheel riding in a captive wooden track. The other end of the captive rail has a cutout in the plywood web that allows the wheel to be inserted into the rail. I have since replaced the rubber wheel shown here with one I machined out of UHMW polyethylene to reduce friction.
