The footing is tied to the slab with three 5/8" x 7" studs sunk into the vertical slab face. A length of 5/8" rebar is wired across all the studs, providing a convenient place to wire the j-bolts that will secure the 2" x 4" plate on top of the footing.
The platform survived a 7.0 earthquake in this configuration.
The platform is now ready to accept the new pony wall.
