The materials to pave our driveway were delivered July 3, 2001. We started laying concrete I-stone pavers that same day.
Our progress was slowed by lots of rain — Anchorage had a record amount of rain the summer of 2001. We finally set up a makeshift tent to cover our work area. Despite the weather, we completed our driveway in less than a month.
After the pavers were all down, a few details were completed in the first week of August. Gravel was returned to its original position around the house foundation, and topsoil was added to bring the lawn back up to the level of the driveway.
