Trade winds out of the south made our first few days on Kaua'i windy and rainy. That didn't stop us from taking a helicopter tour of the island though. Blue Hawaiian is one of the better operators in Hawaii and one of the few to use the American Eurostar Eco-Star helicopter. This new aircraft seats two passengers next to the pilot and four more in the back. All passengers have bucket seats, noise-cancelling headsets, and a good view. This helicopter is touted as being very quiet, something I'm sure the islanders below us all appreciated. While we were travelling on the island, we never did hear a helicopter, so they must work!
This picture was taken during a hot refuel at Lihue airport (the rotors are turning).
