Here is some Eastern Caribbean currency. St. Lucia has been an independent member of the British Commonwealth since 1979, so the Queen appears on much of the currency. The paper currency has all the security features of the latest U. S. currency, including watermarks, but also includes some metal foil laminations as well. The foil laminations set off metal detectors at airports.

The largest coin is a dollar — next to it is a quarter. The smallest diameter coin shown here is a dime. Complicating easy recognition of the currency is the fact that several coin designs for each denomination are in circulation.

This concludes our series of pictures on St. Lucia.
