36 Days Left!
Well, time is sure flying by. We are getting down to the wire here on packing and getting rid of stuff. We had a moving sale last week and didn't do too bad, although still have some things to get rid of. I think we will do another sale on the 10th while Brian is off work again. For now, we have set up tables inside the bus with all of the rest of the things for sale on them. That way, we can just have people walk through the bus and browse, and we don't have to move things back and forth from the house to the yard and worry about the weather. Also, when we are done with our sale, we'll just drive the bus on down to the Salvation Army and empty out what's left in it.
Meanwhile, I am still working on packing and de-junking. It's amazing how much clutter we have collected in the 8 years we've been here!
The kids are all doing well and starting to get into helping with the moving arrangements. Kasi even cleaned her bedroom, and did a really nice job!
Chip is still growing like a weed. He is starting to get up onto his tummy and do the rock-back-and-forth thing, so I don't think it will be too long until he is crawling. Also, he had another "milestone" in his little life today with the appearance of his first tooth. He's been working on it for long enough that it's about time it poked through!
Brian is still busy with work and getting the bus ready to move. Our neighbor was generous and gave us some wood, so he is ready to start building his ramp and legs for the bus seats.
Anyway, back to the grind! Take Care, all, and we'll see you all soon. Enjoy the new pictures of the kids...
Chip enjoying his new walker. It's a good thing he's too short for his legs to touch the floor yet, or he'd be off and running!
Kasi marking music to keep up on her violin practice. This was before her perm, but a cute picture anyway!
Kenny with his new "squeeky toy"!
Aren't they all just adorable!!
My Men Folk!
Finally pictures of the kids!
I think I have finally figured out how to post pictures....
Family Happenings
Well, looks like Brian posted a bit of an update, so I'll try to keep this one short! We had fun at Crab Fest, and yes, I really enjoyed my crab! The kids are all doing well, and growing like crazy still. Kasi is almost as tall as I am, which she takes great joy in announcing every chance she gets. I took her in this last week and got her hair permed. It came out looking really cute with a nice body wave to it. She's been spending as much time with Carolyn as possible before we move.
Kenny goes back to the orthodontist for a checkup on Friday. His teeth are really straightening quite well, so I am encouraged that the money was well spent. Meanwhile, he seems to think that his summer vacation should be spent with his eyes glued to the TV screen watching Cartoon Network all day. I told him to enjoy it today because tomorrow I'm having the cable shut off! We'll switch to the basic cable modem deal to keep the high speed internet, but since we are leaving soon and I have so much to do in the meantime, I don't think we need the distraction of TV. Of course that means he will likely switch his attention to the Playstation (wonder how soon I could get away with packing it??) or the computer (not a chance of packing it until the last minute!) so I still will have the battle to get him to do anything around the house.
Kasi is more than willing to help out around the house, especially if she thinks she can weasel some kind of reward out of it! Most of the time she wins out and I do treat her to something she wants if she has been working hard.
Chip went to the doctor for his 6 month checkup last week. I can't believe he's that old already! Next thing I know, I'll be sending him off to college!! He weighs 13 lbs 11 oz. and is 25 3/4 inches long. We are thankful that he is such a healthy baby. He has now decided that he is big enough to form opinions when it comes to his food. Most things he really likes, or at least tolerates, but when it comes to certain foods (peas, for example) he makes his opinion quite clear. It's amazing how much of a mess a small spoonful of peas can make when spit back at you! Today I tried to give him some baby food spaghetti, and he made it quite plain that he didn't like it either. He wrinkled his face up, spit the spaghetti back out and gagged himself.... I guess we won't be feeding him that again anytime soon!! I do think we are in trouble, however. He has suddenly in the last 2 days decided that he really likes to be on his tummy. Before we could hardly get him to roll over at all, now I can't keep him off of the tummy. Then last night I was watching him as he was playing on the floor. He rolled onto his tummy, tucked his feet up underneath of himself and pushed off, and was scooting himself forward! HELP!!! Of course, he thought he was pretty hot stuff too! I was kind of hoping that he would wait to start crawling until after we get moved and settled! Maybe put it off until he's 9 or 10?
Anyway, not much else new here. I spent the day yesterday giving the Enviro Steamer a good workout. I LOVE IT!! I think I should become their "unofficial spokesman"! or at least do infomercials for them! LOL It is making the cleaning much easier as it gets into the cracks and crevices and makes less scrubbing for me!
Well, take care, everybody. We send our love and best wishes to all.
A little closer
OK, just a minor update here. It seems we have been lacking in the update department lately! Anyway, you will notice a new countdown until we leave Kodiak at the top of the page. If for some reason it says it has expired, just reload the page and it should work normally.
Not much new here, Crab Fest went well. Kasi, Kenny, and I all got wristbands for the "wristband day" at crabfest. What that entails is you buy a wristband for $20 and you ride all the rides you want and don't have to use tickets. We went on quite a few rides, and a couple of them twice. Rosanna got her plate of crab legs, so she is happy.
We were supposed to have our meeting with Transportation and Housing last week, but due to a computer glitch we rescheduled from Tuesday the 8th to Friday the 11th. Of course this was BEFORE the declaration of Friday being a day of mourning. So we rescheduled again for Wednesday the 16th. Hopefully we will be able to keep this appointment.
Our moving sale is supposed to be next week, but we have yet to organize anything for it! I think our big push for this week is to get organized! Rosanna ended up ordering 2 cases of Magic Erasers and a new Enviro Steamer, so we should be all set to clean everything!
Can't think of anything else to update, will update after our Transportation and Housing meeting this week if all goes well.
