Time to Building Challenge
The Overview

THE NEED
Glacier Valley Baptist Church began in 1963 in a small building that is our present fellowship hall. Since then, GVBC has expanded to meet the needs of our community.

Our current ministries are constrained by inadequate facilities.

  • As many as 80 AWANA kids have tried to play games during game tim in the AWANA gym, it is very overcrowded.
  • We currently have Sunday School classes in every nook and cranny throughout the church.
  • Many Sunday School classes have to set up and take down their class each week because they do not have their own room.
  • Our youth program averages 25 youth and has had as many as 45 youth in the youth room at one time.
  • Our Prime Time after school program needs additional space for energetic Middle Schoolers.
  • We do not meet the current kitchen needs of our congregation for fellowships or banquets.
  • 260 Vacation Bible School kids had snack and games in the rain last year.
  • Church wide fellowships required rearrangement of the sanctuary space which has a great impact on the sanctuary and congregation.
  • We are limited in community and evangelical events by our current space.

THE BENEFITS
Every area and ministry of our church will benefit from this building expansion. We will be able to carry out ministries that are impossible for us to do with our current restrictions The new Family Life Center will better enable us to be Salt and Light in our community.

10 Desperately Needed Classrooms

  • Allows us to offer a great variety of Sunday School classes
  • Class will have their own rooms
  • Gets older AWANA kids out of preschool rooms

Commercial Kitchen Facilities

  • Church wide fellowships and banquets
  • Prep space for Glory Hole Ministry

Flexible Large Room Options

  • Special events often require large areas.
  • Large conference rooms for special meetings.
  • Two AWANA game circles.
  • Indoor play space for preschoolers.
  • Space for youth/college coffee house meetings.

THE POSSIBILITIES
Only God knows the endless possibilities that this new facility will provide us. For certain it will open doors for us into our community, and can serve as a wonderful outreach center to the central Valley. The question is not so much, will God open the door, but the question is, will we walk through it?

I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door,
and no one can shut it;
for you have a little strength, have kept My word,
and have not denied My name.
Revelation 3:8 (NKJV)
