Spiritual
The spiritual goal of our preschool is to help each child develop his/her life. We want children to know that God is their Heavenly Father who cares for them and to learn to respect and obey the teachings of the Bible. Bible stories and verses are used in the classroom. Chapel is on Monday and Thursday.
Social and Emotional
Appropriate social behavior will be modeled in the classroom. Children will be enchouraged to grow in their ability to work and play cooperatively with others, to show respect, love, and consideration for others, and to try new experiences and activities.
Physical
Provision is made for large motor activities on the playground when weather permits or in the gym during inclement weather. Classroom activities allow for movement during unstructured play time and through the use of music. Opportunity for fine motor skills development is given through art and table projects, manipulatives, and play
Academic Skills
Children have opportunity to learn about colors, shapes, size, relationships, classification, and patterning. They are introduced to letters, their sounds and to numbers.
Science and math learning are interspersed in experiences such as cooking, planting, building, painting, and daily calendar.
Field trips are an integral part of the program. Examples are: fire station, DIPAC, and Swampy Acres farm. Children also learn from visitors who bring their knowledge into the classroom.
VBA classes are small, and teachers are assisted by aides. Parental involement is welcomed in the classroom, but parents are not obligated to volunteer.
Valley Baptist Academy Preschool is a ministry of Glacier Valley Baptist Church. It is our desire to provide a quality learning environment for each child. Our children are our greatest investment of our time and money. They are the future of our families, our community, and our nation.
