Juneau Seminar

In the first part of the seminar participants hear about the history of Bandage.jpg (22580 bytes) medical delivery in the United States and why it feels so complex today.  Patients are are introduced to terms and concepts that affect "purchasing" medical services and "payment" for them in our current system.

This base of knowledge will prepare them when we begin to customize their own Healthcare Expense Tracking Systemã, which we will accomplish in the second half of the program.

Jo, with two Master’s degrees in Teaching and Communication, keeps the learning fun.  Freda, a Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Professional Coder, is the medical economics technician.  Her knowledge of medical economics and the current health care system has been gained by over 28 years of experience in the administration of various medical practices.

The second session teaches individuals or couples to "plug in" personal medical expenses and reimbursements, from any third party, including Medicare, into their personal Healthcare Expense Tracking Systemã binder.  This allows a structured way for them to follow their own billings as they move through the healthcare reimbursement maze.

By the end of the seminar, your patients will have made the first entries in their own, customized Healthcare Expense Tracking Systemã and have learned a technique with materials they can take home and use consistently, even if their present health plan situation changes at a later time.

The system is especially useful to the Medicare covered population, or those surviving a chronic or acute medical condition, who are faced with complicated financial issues when purchasing medical services.

There’s no "big talk" in the seminar, just down-home definitions patient's need, with terms they can understand, so they finish the program as informed medical consumers, armed with personal knowledge to lessen one of life’s biggest stresses.

It's always fun to learn with a group.  We suggest 40 people or less, per seminar, for maximum learning potential.  We recommend 2 people per family attend the seminar, although one Healthcare Expense Tracking Systemã per family is usually sufficient.

For those who have a family member with a chronic or debilitating health condition, one tracking system should be used for that person and another for the rest of the family.  The purchase of one Healthcare Expense Tracking Systemã includes attendance for up to 2 people per seminar.  Additional tracking systems can be purchased after the seminar, if needed.

A minimum of 4 seminars must be booked in the same vicinity.  You may want to ask your medical society to sponsor the program.  Organizations are encouraged to co-sponsor the program.  The seminar can be tailored to the needs of your particular group.

Two seminars can be administered per day.  In 3 hours your patient departs with the knowledge and tools they need to manage their healthcare finances throughout their life.

Making $en$e of Your Healthcare Dollar$, combined with the hands-on Healthcare Expense Tracking System©, provides today's medical consumer with a powerful tool to last a lifetime.
