The January 2010 CPT and ICD-9 Coding Workshop was a
hit. Comments were:
"Nice to
attend a beneficial workshop"
"Very good class"
"Nice to have a workshop in Juneau"
"I've really enjoyed the class today and felt like I learned a lot.
Thank you!"
"Thank you so much - Refresher is great with new energy!"
"Thank you - very well done"
From some of our HEAL© customers -
"I saved $1,500 the first time I used my HEAL©. One of our providers said they sent a claim to our insurance company but
they had never been paid. The insurance company said they never received a claim from this provider.
When I found out what happened, using the tools I learned at your training, I took control of the situation. My insurance paid the bill!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"The information I learned from HealthCare Considerations on Medicare
is great. Now my Mom and I understand how her Medicare and private insurance
work together and we are able to keep her paperwork straight. She knows
exactly how much she owes her providers, or not, down to the
penny. She loves that, and so do I!"
"This is the most information I have ever
received about my own role in health care delivery and the payment for it. Now I can make
informed decisions about the monetary impact of my own
health care choices."
Juneau Empire Article from August 2002
Note from Freda: Jo Dahl is my wonderful
friend in the Empire story who helped HealthCare Considerations first teach this
method. Jo is now pursuing other great adventures, but we always think of her
and her past contributions fondly. Freda became a Miller in 2005 by
marrying the illustrious and talented Zike Miller.

SYSTEM AIMS TO MAKE PAYING MULTIPLE MEDICAL BILLS EASIER
Freda Rogers and Jo
Dahl are trying to ease the most painful part of most doctor visits - paying the
bills. Over three years the Juneau women developed a system for individuals to
track and manage their medical bills and health insurance. Now they're turning
it into a business. The impetus came from Rogers' work as a medical assistant.
She found she spent much of her time helping patients understand their bills and
insurance coverage. She considered starting a service to help handle medical
bills, but decided she'd rather teach people the skills they need to do it
themselves.
