Welcome to my Gardening Page!

I'm NO farmer! Nor am I some great gardening pro. I have to admit that I'm a newbie at gardening. I've only had a vegetable garden once, and that was in south Georgia. We slaved all summer long with days of record highs, we worked so hard and then... there was a flood. I'm not talking a few inches of water. I'm talking Kmart was submerged! But our beans did well. Oh boy! I decided right then and there that was the LAST time I'd ever do that!

Now, here I am ready to take a shot at it again. There have been some changes. One, we don't live in the south anymore. Two, we don't have a community garden like we did in Georgia. That was a real pain. Just to work in the garden for a few minutes you had to load a U-haul!

I'm now lucky enough to live in a house that has my garden in my backyard.

The one thing I decided from the get was I'm not going to spend a ton of money for gardening this year. It's my first year gardening up here and I like to call it experimental gardening. I've done a lot of research. I've looked at cost vs. need. I think I have a rather good plan for my garden considering that I don't have a green house nor will I have a raised bed.

I somewhat have a gardening plan if you'd like to see it. I also have a page of links that I like to use that are specific to northern gardening.
