














Joseph Schnell began his Ballet training at the Ballet Barre in Fairbanks, Alaska. He then moved to Spokane, Washington and studied with the Tessa Williams School of Ballet, followed by a move to New York City on full scholarship with The School of American Ballet. In 1985, Joseph was awarded a full scholarship with The Joffrey Ballet School, became one of eleven dancers in 1986 and in 1987 joined Joffrey’s main company, and danced as a Principle until 1997. From 1997-2002, Joseph was a Soloist with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet in Canada until 2002. He toured with both companies, so he has traveled the world sharing his artistry and performing. In 2002, Joseph moved to New Orleans, and became professor of Dance at Tulane University. He also taught at New Orleans Academy of Dance, and the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (N.O.C.C.A.). He also thoroughly enjoyed choreographing shows for the Crescent Lights Youth Theatre. Joseph has had a full and fulfilling career in Dance and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with JDU students.
Alex Brown is currently a student at the University of Alaska Southeast and is a Juneau Douglas High School Dance/Drill Team alumni. Alex has been interested in the performing arts since a young age and has had a long and rigorous relationship with gymnastics since the age of 6. Since then she has performed in the 2006 JDHS production of "Pippin", as a trapeze artist and dancer, but did not truly fall in love with dance till she started taking salsa classes and performing at the Academia Sylvia Garcia Salsa y Merengue in Quito, Ecuador. She has most recently taught and choreographed a hip hop routine for the Auke Bay School's spoof teachers' dance team, the ABC's, and now spends most of her time picking up new age hip hop moves and choreography off of "Youtube". Alex hopes to bring creativity and style to JDU's floor and wants to encourage others to express themselves.
Antonio Diaz Antonio has been teaching salsa in Juneau and around Southeast since 2002. Prior to that, Antonio taught and performed in Seattle for several years, winning the city-wide Seattle Salsa Contest in 2000. Antonio is originally from Lima, Peru. He spent 2008 in his hometown, training in several Latin styles including Bachata, Son, Cha-cha and Afro-Cuban as well as the salsa variations of LA-style, Mambo on 2, New York style, and Cuban-style.
Antonio teaches classes at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, and has recently started teaching at both Juneau Douglas High School and Thunder Mountain High School in Juneau, Juneau Dance Unlimited and University of Alaska Southeast. In addition to his regular Juneau teaching schedule, he has taught workshops in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan, Haines and Nome. He also performs at numerous special events, along with his dance group Rumbalaska.
Sabrina Javier, currently a student at the University of Alaska Southeast began dancing at the age of six. She has served two years on the Juneau-Douglas High School Dance/Drill Team, one year as a team officer. She has assisted with choreography for the 2004 JDHS production of, 'Wizard of Oz' and other local shows and events. She taught Hip Hop at Juneau's DanceFest '08 and has provided outreach Hip Hop classes at the Juneau high
schools. Sabrina wants to continue sharing her passion and knowledge in dance with JDU and can't wait to get everyone out on the dance floor!
Lenne' Musarra has a Master's Degree in Dance Therapy from New York University and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and Dance from Reed College. She acquired teacher certification in Early Childhood Education from The University of Alaska Southeast. Lenne' has studied ballet, modern, jazz, and East Indian Kathak dance styles. She has choreographed, performed and taught dance for over 20 years to children, seniors, and those with disabilities. This will be Lenne's 12th year teaching Creative Movement Classes for Juneau Dance Unlimited.
Leslie Wagner has her Master's Degree in Modern Dance from Temple University, and her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Philadelphia College of Performing Art. She has worked as a teacher, choreographer, and performer. In her 20 years of experience, she has worked in many facets of dance education, including designing dance curriculum, teaching college courses, and choreographing several large musicals. Leslie teaches Modern Dance at JDU.
