TransPacific Computing specializes in using computers in environmental science issues, such as oil spills, impact and hazards analysis, and environmental monitoring. Our primary services involve Geographic Information Systems and database applications, with an emphasis on data analysis and visualization. TransPacific provides ESRI certified ArcView training and application development.

TransPacific Computing is a recognized name in the field of GIS and the use of data in South East Alaska. The Alaska Base Map Data CD-ROM has become a standard GIS data reference in use across the state.

Software applications used include ARC/INFO, ArcView, MapInfo, AutoCAD, ArcCAD and a wide variety of database applications.    Languages range from  Avenue to Visual Basic and several in between.

Equipment at TransPacific Computing includes a network of Pentium class computers, large format color printer/plotter, CD-ROM recorder, 4mm and 8mm tape drives, scanner, multi-gigabyte storage and a LINUX based Unix server.

On July 1, 1998, TransPacific Computing was aquired by Resource Data, Inc. of Anchorage, AK. By joining forces we will be able to better server our clients in South East Alaska with the opening of a Resource Data, Inc. office in Juneau.
