TransPacific Computing
specializes in using computers in environmental
science issues, such as oil spills, impact and
hazards analysis, and environmental monitoring.
Our primary services involve Geographic
Information Systems and database applications,
with an emphasis on data analysis and
visualization. TransPacific provides ESRI
certified ArcView training and application
development.
TransPacific Computing is
a recognized name in the field of GIS and the use
of data in South East Alaska. The Alaska Base Map Data
CD-ROM has become a standard GIS
data reference in use across the state.
Software
applications used include ARC/INFO, ArcView,
MapInfo, AutoCAD, ArcCAD and a wide variety of
database applications. Languages
range from Avenue to Visual Basic and
several in between.
Equipment at TransPacific Computing includes a
network of Pentium class computers, large format
color printer/plotter, CD-ROM recorder, 4mm and
8mm tape drives, scanner, multi-gigabyte storage
and a LINUX based Unix server.
On July 1, 1998,
TransPacific Computing was aquired by Resource
Data, Inc. of Anchorage, AK. By joining forces we
will be able to better server our clients in
South East Alaska with the opening of a Resource
Data, Inc. office in Juneau.
