Mrs. Gabrielle Hazelton

Supreme Deputy, IORG in Alaska

Rainbow was established by Mark Sexson who was a Past Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and Past Most Worshipful Grand Master of a Sovereign Masonic Grand Jurisdiction which is the highest office that one can obtain in freemasonry. The degrees in Rainbow were first Exemplified by the South McAlester Chapter #149, O.E.S., in the auditorium of the Scottish Rite Temple in McAlester, Ok. for 171 girls.

The International Order of Rainbow for Girls is sponsored by Masonic Bodies, Order of the Eastern Star and Amaranth. The Juneau Assembly is sponsored by Juneau Chapter #7, Order of the Eastern Star

The Juneau Chapter #3 International Order of Rainbow for Girls was chartered on December 15, 1932. There are 61 girls on the charter. We only have a fourth that many on the rolls now. Out of those girls, 1/3 are attending college, or out of town and affiliated with another Assembly. The ones we do have are very active in different Community Service projects and are very busy all the time.

Requirements for joining Rainbow are:

Being a girl age 11 to 20
Belief in a Supreme Being
A love for her country
A desire to serve others
Enjoy having fun.
