STRAWBERRIES,
Fragaria Alpine:
A
profusion of extra sweet small berries growing on
small bush like plants. Produces no runners.
Makes a nice ground cover. Bears fruit well
into fall. In France they drop these into
a glass of champagne. Will tolerate light shade.

Glooscap
A
popular mid season variety which produces large, red,
firm berries with excellent dessert quality. A
vigorous plant with extreme winter hardiness makes
it a first choice for northern regions. Likes full sun.
We sell out of these every year no matter how many we
grow. |
RHUBARB,
Rheum, Glaskin’s Perpetual Large
juicy red stalks on what can become huge plants of carnivorous
appearance. One of the first to emerge in the spring.
Repels squirrels from the attic, rabbits from the yard,
shrews from the house and moose from the yard. Just joking.
Likes sun and a lot of water although they seem to grow
disturbingly well in partial sun. Do not remove
more than half of the developed stalks from the plant
at any one time. This will give the roots strength
for the next season. |
