Our Mission
The great commission of Matthew 28:18-20
are the last words that Matthew recorded in his gospel. The gospel that
"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and in earth."
These are the words Christ spoke to his disciples urging them to spread
the most important good news of all time.
The book of Luke also records Christ urging the disciples to preach, but
also Jesus says, "Behold I send the Promise of My Father upon you;
but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from
on high."
Acts records the scene of one hundred and twenty of Jesus Christ’s
following, together in Jerusalem, in "one accord in prayer and
supplication." On the day of Pentecost the power Jesus told them
that they would be endued with, fell on them "divided tongues, as
of fire, and one sat upon each of them."
The church body has a very important mission…to be a beacon to the
sailors on the stormy seas of life. To show the truth of where the rocks
are, so that the sailor may by his own choice be saved.
There are many questions that must be answered before a person can have
a satisfying life.
1.Is there a Higher Power?
2.Are there absolutes in life?
3.Does good and evil really exist?
4.Why was I born?
5.Why are bad things allowed to happen to people?
6.Is there a cause higher than anything on earth?
Many of these questions cannot be answered without serious prayer and
study in God’s revealed word. There are definite answers to these
questions and others but, sometimes God reveals things to us slowly.
Otherwise we would receive untimely information. God knows what we are
going through. He ministers to us when we need Him most.
Everyone who has lived on this earth has had to ask these questions of
themselves. Many go through life and never have these questions
answered.
Our Mission, to always be prepared with an answer for anyone seeking
God, no matter their station in life.
