Olga Creek holds a Department of Interior Wildlife Viewing Permit
for the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. We
will be able to take you to where the famous Kodiak Bears are.
The island of Kodiak holds many valuable food sources which enable
these bears to grow to their tremendous size. The Kodiak Bear
consumes such items as roots, freshly emerging vegetation, berries
and salmon, just to name a few. The growing season and strength
of salmon runs can have a large effect on the location of many
bear.
Our prime bear viewing takes place along salmon streams where
the bear are feeding mid-August through September. This has offered
our guest many photographic opportunities of the famous "Kodiak
Bear" in its natural environment.
The
surrounding Area also is home to such animals as Beaver, Otter,
Fox, Deer and more.
