Registered Nurse - Primarily Night Shift

Registered Nurse – Primarily Night Shift
Full Time with Benefits

Duties:
Performs the duties as a Registered Nurse in a critical access hospital and nursing home facility.  Will primarily work six 12 ½ hour night shifts and take 24 hours of call during a two week pay period.  Uses nursing process to deliver care to patients.  Must have a good working knowledge of the nursing process and strong basic nursing skills.  Often works independently without direct supervision.

Responsibilities Include:
Providing nursing care to patients in the acute care, swing bed, outpatient, long term care and emergency departments. 

Provides nursing care in accordance with physician's orders and in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards and administrative polices.

Continuously uses nursing process to provide patient care and thoroughly documents assessments, plan of care, interventions, responses and other pertinent details in an electronic health record.

Medication Administration using the 7 “rights” of medication administration and according to hospital policy.

Appropriate delegation of tasks to LPNs, CNAs and other ancillary staff.

Ensuring that equipment and supplies are stocked, in-date, and ready to be used on patients.

Upholds the PMC mission statement and guiding values.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have current licensure as a Registered nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska, with at least 2 years of acute care experience.  Experience in a wide variety of areas is extremely helpful.

Must be current in BLS and ACLS.

Basic computer skills.

Must have a genuine interest in nursing and patient care. 

Integrity, professionalism, teamwork, strong work ethic, self-motivation,  critical thinking skills, good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, initiative, patience, excellent communication skills, and good judgment are a few of the qualities need by an RN at Petersburg Medical Center

Must show the ability to keep protected health information confidential.

Lab Med Tech

            Located in beautiful Southeast Alaska, in the town of Petersburg, is an opportunity for a laboratory generalist to come and enjoy!  The town of 3000 boasts the serene beauty of a small town founded by Norwegian-American fisherman in the late 1800’s with vast mountains and ocean right outside your window.

            Petersburg Medical Center is a 27-bed hospital, 15 long term care and 12 acute care.  A PMC Medical Technologist works as a generalist, working in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and Immunology. Our technical staff also performs EKGs and Basic Pulmonary Function Tests.  We are staffed during the day (0730 – 1730), Monday – Saturday, and share week night, weekend, and holiday call.

We are looking for a professional who is flexible, with strong clinical skills and has the ability to work in an unpredictable, challenging environment.  We offer an excellent work environment and wonderful community.

Imaging Technologist

            Located in beautiful Southeast Alaska, in the town of Petersburg, is an opportunity for an Imaging Technologist to come and enjoy!  The town of 3000 boasts the serene beauty of a small town founded by Norwegian-American fisherman in the late 1800’s with vast mountains and ocean right outside your window.

            Petersburg Medical Center is a 27-bed hospital, 15 long term care and 12 acute care beds.  Imaging technologists trained in multiple modalities– in radiology, CT, mammography and ultrasound.

We are looking for a professional who is flexible, with strong skills and has the ability to work in an unpredictable, challenging environment.  A self starter with the ability to provide high quality, personalized care is a must.

Physical Therapist

The town of 3000 boasts the serene beauty of a small town founded by Norwegian-American fisherman in the late 1800’s with vast mountains and ocean right outside your window.

Petersburg Medical Center is a 27-bed hospital, 15 long term care and 12 acute care beds with an Outpatient Clinic, ER, Home Health, Lab and Imaging departments. The Physical Therapist works with patients from all ages--in an acute hospital setting, Long Term Care facility, Skilled nursing/rehab patients, hospital outpatient clinic or Home Health Care setting.

We are looking for a professional who is adaptable, with strong skills, and has the ability to work in this unique rural setting accessible by ferry and twice daily airline services. A self starter with the ability to provide high quality, personalized care is a must.
