Volcano Eruption: The Purpose

The purpose of Volcano Eruption is to promote group cooperation, interpersonal communication, leadership, problem-solving, physical and emotional self-control, sportsmanship, and class cohesiveness.

The purposes are achieved by means of an intensely fun and challenging obstacle course. The multiple levels of courses are impossible for an individual to master, but can be completed if students work together as a team.

Competition is the catalyst that fuels achievement of Volcano Eruption's purposes. The element of competition is added by having the class divided into two teams competing side-by-side on identical courses.
